From someone who understands life behind the uniform

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent years working frontline as a Police Officer in Canada. That experience gave me a deep respect for the strength, resilience, and adaptability required of those who spend their careers supporting others.

First responders learn to step into moments that most people never see. To stay calm in uncertainty, make decisions under pressure, and continue showing up even after difficult experiences.

​

Sometimes this means learning to compartmentalise to put on the uniform and become who others need you to be in that moment.

​

While these strategies can be important and protective, the transition back into everyday life is not always simple. The experiences you carry, the roles you hold, and the human underneath the uniform are all connected.

​

I believe first responders deserve spaces where all parts of themselves are welcome where you can be the professional who responds to others and the person who also feels, struggles, cares, and needs support.

​

Because behind every uniform is a human being.

First responders understand the importance of training, preparation, and looking after their physical health. Your mental health deserves the same attention.

Counselling is a place to slow down, make sense of what you’ve experienced, and strengthen the skills that support you both at work and outside of it.

This might include processing difficult experiences, understanding patterns that are no longer serving you, strengthening relationships, or reconnecting with what matters most.

Our approach is collaborative and tailored to you, combining genuine conversation with evidence-informed approaches including EMDR therapy, narrative therapy, and emotion-focused counselling.
